2022-2023 Crusader and Lady Crusader Season
This will be our 17th year to offer basketball and volleyball at the Georgetown Homeschool Group. Here is some basic information about our teams and playing schedule.
Purpose: To honor God in our words, actions, and behaviors. To learn and improve fundamental basketball and volleyball skills. To have fun and fellowship with friends.
Players: This is a boys’ basketball / girls' volleyball team that ranges from 10-18 years of age. Team placement on the Jr. Varsity or Varsity team is dependent upon skill level and coaches' discretion. This is a competitive league and athletes are NOT guaranteed playing time or starting position.
Season: Our season runs September through February. We play around the state of KY, typically within a two hour radius of Lexington.
Practice: Our teams practice twice a week: Day and time TBD . Athletes are required to attend ALL practices. They are expected to arrive 10 – 15 minutes BEFORE practice begins so that practice can start on time. If a player must miss a practice, they need to notify their head coach.
League: The Georgetown Crusaders belong to KY Christian School Athletic Assoc. Christian and home school organizations throughout the state compete in various sports in this league. Please refer to the by-laws at their website for more information.
Cost: Basketball $200, Volleyball $150. This fee pays for KCSAA membership, referees, gym rental, uniforms, sports banquet, awards, equipment and supplies. Additional costs include: admissions ($3 - $10), travel expenses for away games, shirts to go under jersey’s and/or compression shorts (basketball), jersey, socks and knee pads (volleyball).
